The Faculty of Vocational Education USU organized excellent service training for education personnel aimed at improving the quality of academic and administrative services, thereby providing the best experience for students and the entire academic community.
Medan, 16 September 2025 – The Faculty of Vocational Education, University of Sumatera Utara (USU) held an Excellent Service Training for education personnel within the faculty on Tuesday (16/9) at the Mikie Wijaya Hall Auditorium, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) USU. This activity aimed to enhance the quality of academic and administrative services, thereby providing the best experience for both students and the entire academic community. The event was solemnly opened with a series of activities beginning with the master of ceremonies, Natasya Fahira, A.Md.Par, followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and a prayer led by Rizki Ananda Siregar, A.Md.Par.
In his remarks, Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU, Dr. Muhammad Husni Thamrin, M.Si, stated that excellent service is one of the key elements in creating a high-quality and professional academic environment. “Education personnel are the frontline in serving students and lecturers, so capacity building through training like this is very important,” he said.
The training presented speaker Juli Agustini, SE, Branch Manager of KP. BSI USU. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of friendliness, responsiveness, and effective communication in meeting the needs of service users in higher education institutions. She also introduced the 5S concept (Smile, Greet, Salute, Polite, and Courteous) as a simple yet impactful principle of excellent service in creating comfort for service recipients.
The event was officially closed by Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Vocational Education USU, Yasmin Chairunisa Muchtar, S.P., MBA. She expressed her hope that all education personnel would implement the knowledge gained in their daily activities. “Good service is a reflection of the institution’s quality. Hopefully, this training will serve as motivation to continuously improve work quality,” she said.
Through this training, the Faculty of Vocational Education USU reaffirms its commitment to continuously enhancing the professionalism of education personnel to achieve excellent, responsive, and student-centered services.
