Medan, July 9, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Education, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), welcomed a delegation from the University's Directorate of Human Resources (HR) for a technical assistance session on the preparation of Job Analysis and Workload Analysis (WLA) documents. Held in Room 203, Building B of the Faculty of Vocational Education, the activity formed part of the Faculty's efforts to strengthen effective, efficient, and needs-based human resource governance.

The event was attended by the Human Resources Manager of the USU Directorate of Human Resources, the Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure of the Faculty of Vocational Education, all Heads of Administrative Subdivisions within the Faculty, administrative staff responsible for human resources at the Faculty, and personnel from the University's Directorate of Human Resources.

During the session, the Directorate's team provided technical guidance on preparing Job Analysis and Workload Analysis (WLA) documents, both of which serve as essential instruments for human resource planning within the Faculty. The assistance aimed to ensure that each organizational unit develops a clear job mapping framework alongside objective and measurable workload calculations.

A major focus of the program was the preparation of Workload Analysis (WLA) for every unit within the Faculty of Vocational Education. As part of this process, each division was asked to identify its duties and functions, calculate work volume, estimate task completion times, and assess the complexity of each responsibility. The resulting analysis will serve as the basis for determining the ideal number of administrative personnel required in each division according to its actual workload.

During the discussion session, the Directorate's team also explained the procedures for preparing Job Analysis and Workload Analysis documents in accordance with the University's human resource management standards and regulations. Participants were allowed to discuss challenges encountered in their daily responsibilities, ensuring that the documents accurately reflect the operational realities of each work unit.

The Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure of the Faculty of Vocational Education, Dr. Yasmin Chairunisa Muchtar, S.P., MBA, expressed her appreciation for the guidance provided by the Directorate of Human Resources. She noted that the activity represents an important step toward generating accurate data on staffing requirements, enabling the Faculty to manage its human resources more strategically, proportionately, and in accordance with organizational needs.

Through this assistance program, every work unit within the Faculty of Vocational Education is expected to produce comprehensive Job Analysis and Workload Analysis documents. These documents will serve as a foundation for human resource planning, development, and organizational restructuring, ultimately supporting more professional institutional governance and enhancing the quality of services provided to the university's academic community.
