Medan, July 1, 2026 – The Faculty of Vocational Studies at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held its inaugural coordination meeting with the newly appointed Heads of Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term. Conducted at the Faculty's Hall, the meeting marked the beginning of efforts to strengthen synergy, align perspectives, and establish a shared commitment to the governance and development of the faculty over the next five years.
The meeting was attended by the faculty leadership, the newly appointed Heads of Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term, expert staff, and heads of administrative subdivisions within the Faculty of Vocational Studies. It served as a strategic forum for communicating the faculty's policy directions while aligning work programs across academic units to support the achievement of Universitas Sumatera Utara's vision and mission.
In her remarks, Prof. Dr. Isfenti Sadalia, S.E., M.E., Dean of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, emphasized the importance of collaborative, adaptive, and quality-oriented leadership in advancing vocational education. She encouraged the Heads of Study Programs to introduce innovations and strategic initiatives that would enhance the competitiveness of their respective programs while making meaningful contributions to the progress of both the faculty and the university.

The Vice Dean for Education, Student Affairs, and Alumni, Dr. Solahuddin Nasution, S.E., M.SP., presented policies related to academic management, improving the quality of teaching and learning, student development, and strengthening alumni engagement. He encouraged the Heads of Study Programs to optimize the implementation of the university's Tri Dharma—education, research, and community service—by delivering high-quality education that responds to the evolving needs of the workforce.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yasmin Chairunisa Muchtar, S.P., MBA., Vice Dean for Administration, Finance, Human Resources, and Academic Infrastructure, provided guidance on effective administrative management, accountable financial governance, human resource development, and the optimization of academic facilities and infrastructure to support educational activities within each study program.

The Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Internationalization, Junedi Ginting, S.Si., M.Si., encouraged the Heads of Study Programs to increase research productivity, expand community engagement initiatives, strengthen partnerships with various stakeholders, and develop internationalization programs that would enhance the Faculty of Vocational Studies' reputation at both the national and global levels.
Through this inaugural coordination meeting, the Faculty of Vocational Studies aims to establish a shared vision and strategic direction between the faculty leadership and all Heads of Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term. The collaboration is expected to foster excellent, collaborative, and competitive faculty governance, in line with the faculty's commitment to producing competent graduates who are well prepared to meet the demands of the workforce and the challenges of an increasingly globalized world.
