Medan, July 1, 2026 – Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially held the Inauguration of Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term at the USU Student Center on Wednesday (July 1). The inauguration ceremony was led by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and attended by members of the university leadership, deans, directors of directorates, faculty members, administrative staff, and invited guests.

On this occasion, several faculty members from the Faculty of Vocational Education officially assumed their roles as Heads of Study Programs for the 2026–2031 term, namely:

  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Applied Chemistry – Agung Pratama, S.Si., M.Si.
  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Statistics – Asima Manurung, S.Si., M.Si.
  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Instrumentation Engineering Technology – Rahmadhani Banurea, S.Si., M.Si.
  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Digital Office Administration – Dr. Fivi Rahmatus Sofiyah, S.E., M.Si.
  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Banking and Finance – Beby Kendida Hasibuan, S.E., M.Si.
  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Public Sector Accounting – Sambas Ade Kesuma, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., Ak., CA.
  • Applied Bachelor's Degree Program in Tourism Business Management – Koko Sujatmoko, S.E., M.Si.
  • Diploma Program in Food and Pharmaceutical Analyst – Sri Yuliasmi, S.Farm., M.Si., Apt.
  • Diploma Program in Taxation – Dr. Faisal Eriza, S.Sos., M.SP.
  • Diploma Program in English – Riko Andika Rahmat Pohan, S.S., M.Hum.
  • Diploma Program in Japanese – Murniati Br. Barus, S.S., M.Pd.
  • Diploma Program in Informatics Engineering – Yudhistira Adhitya Pratama, S.Kom., M.Kom.

In his remarks, the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., emphasized that higher education is currently experiencing rapid transformation, particularly due to the dynamic advancement of technology. According to him, universities must be able to adapt and leverage technology effectively to support more innovative, efficient, and relevant learning processes.

The Rector also encouraged all faculty members and academic leaders to continuously enhance their competencies and remain open to change. He noted that adaptability is a crucial factor in producing graduates who are highly competitive at both the national and global levels.

Furthermore, the Rector highlighted the importance of understanding the characteristics of today's student generation. He stressed that learning should not merely focus on content delivery but should also be designed to be more interactive, foster creativity, develop critical thinking skills, and provide meaningful learning experiences for students.

Addressing the newly inaugurated Heads and Secretaries of Study Programs, the Rector encouraged them to cultivate a collaborative work culture. He emphasized that the advancement of both the study programs and the university cannot be achieved individually, but rather through strong synergy among academic leaders, faculty members, administrative staff, students, and strategic partners.

With the appointment of the new study program leadership, the Faculty of Vocational Education is optimistic about further strengthening academic governance, enhancing the quality of vocational education, fostering innovation, and expanding collaboration with industry and business partners. This inauguration also reflects a shared commitment to advancing vocational education that is adaptive, inclusive, and globally competitive in an era of rapid technological development.
